Just like Betamax and VHS...

...only this time Sony (who created Betamax) is on the winning side. Blu-ray will soon be the only option, as Toshiba is apparently about to give up on their HD-DVDs. Already Netflix, WalMart and BestBuy no longer offer (or are phasing out) HD-DVD products.

I have yet to purchase either, so I really don't care.

gonna be interesting to see if blu-ray gets as big as the companies want it to get... to be honest I don't see blu-ray replacing all my dvd's... we'll see what happens

i never saw CDs replacing all of my cassette tapes. and then I never saw MP3s replacing all my CDs. I don't even think I own any more CDs.

Believe me, something will replace DVDs. If not Blu-Ray, then something else.

yeah, i mean i know something will replace dvd's... I just don't know if its gonna be blu-ray... there's just not a big enough change between the two for me to say this is the next big thing... we'll see though.

i can see where you're coming from, and i agree. it may not be blu-ray that replaces dvds. i haven't really experienced the magic of blu-ray, so i'm not sure what the fuss is about, but i sure have heard alot of people talking about it.

we will certainly see.
by the way, you need to come visit nashville sometime.
